  1. We have made a commitment to tithe; however, we usually don't have a lot of extra written in the budget of giving above the 10%. Our best friends live in Atlanta, and he lost his job about 5 weeks ago. About 2 weeks ago, we both felt led to send them $100. It was not budgeted for the month and to be honest, we really didn't have the extra money. We took the step of faith and sent them a $100 AmEx gift card. About 3 days after mailing the gift, we received a check in the mail for $308 for reimbursement from our flex spending that we were not even expecting. It would have been so much easier to send the gift AFTER receiving that in the mail but it was so rewarding to take the step of faith and then see God provide over and above...

  2. Recently on a friday night we decided with another couple friend to do something better than watch movies or go out to dinner. We went through our closets and gathered any winter clothes we could and went down to the Crisis Ministries Shelter and handed out clothes for an hour. We took this time to witness God's word as well. We even had our 3 year daughter with us and she even got into the spirit of giving as well. That was the best friday night we have had in a long time. We also made a commitment to continue with that couple to do something extra to help once a month.
