I think this is a wonderful step in the life of this church. Having the children worship with the families will allow them to hear every Sunday the man that God has called to pastor the church. It will also give families an opportunity to talk about the message and what God may be speaking to them about.
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited about this! This is how I grew up in church. I remember being restless many times but I also remember listening and absorbing a lot as well. It is so good for children to observe the Body of Christ worshipping so it will be a natural transition for them to join in as the Holy Spirit works in their hearts.
ReplyDeleteI'm still a little confused. Do we take our child to class before the 1030 service? I've listened to the video twice and do not agree that my 6 year old is going to get much out of the adult service. I'll be stressed keeping him quiet and I will miss a lot of the service during the times when I am busy answering his questions, asking him to be quiet, etc. I'm not at all happy about this change.
ReplyDeleteDear JICC Members,
ReplyDeleteWe have been asked by SSG Christopher Mallard to help send part of the USA to his troops stationed in Iraq. This will include personal items for both single men and women under his command. We are only one of two churches that have shown interest in helping him. These troops will be returning to their home station in Mannheim, Germany. Unlike their married counterparts they have nobody to welcome them home. This can leave a void that is hard to fill. The Sergeant feels that if they receive items from the US, it can help fill that void. I personally have been there and done that and I know how hard it is to come home to an empty space.
There are 213 men and 42 females between the ages of 18 to 26. The following is a list of items that will be helpful but not necessarily inclusive.
Blankets Shampoo Condoms
Sheets Conditioner Canned Food
Shaving cream Deodorant Stamps
Razors Socks Assorted Candy Envelopes Paper Soap
Coffee Pillows Laundry Detergent
Tampons
We have until the first of May to ship these items. I will be the contact person and will facilitate storage of the items until shipment.
In Jesus name I serve,
