Tuesday Morning Elder Prayer

The elders and I just got done with our morning prayer time. One thing that I am always overwhelmed by is the amount of prayer requests. It seems that these days, many prayer requests fall into these three categories:
1. Job
2. Marriage
3. Health

I only mention these because those who are without jobs, those struggling in their marriages, and those with sickness really don't just need our prayers but also our encouragement. On Sunday we talked about "rejoicing with those who rejoice and weeping with those who weep" (Rom. 12), and that is our prayer as elders. We continue to pray that the Holy Spirit would empower our body to be faithful to the encourage the people in our lives. So, maybe you know someone who doesn't have a job, or you know someone at the church that you haven't seen in a while. Take a moment to pray for them. Ask God what YOU can do to be an encouragement to them. You might be the one person that the Holy Spirit is leading to take action. Be his hands and his feet this week.

We believe that God is hearing and answering our prayers!
