"When You Give" Sermon Follow-up

A few of you asked about the quote that I read on Sunday. It is from Richard Foster's book, "The Celebration of Discipline." Here it is:

We will possess freedom from materialism if

1—what we have we receive as a gift

2—what we have is cared for by God

3—what we have is available to others

But if …

1—what we have we believe we have attained

2—what we have we must hold on to

3—what we have is not available to others

… then we live controlled by our possessions.
