George Duggan Memorial Arrangements

The Duggan family will be receiving friends and family on Monday evening from 5-7 a.m. at Sturhs downtown.
The memorial service for Mr. Duggan will be at JICC at 11 a.m. on Tuesday followed by a burial at Holy Cross Cemetery (at the intersection of Ft. Johnson and Haroborview Rd.)
There will be a reception for family and friends and James and Kelley Duggan's home following the burial.


George M. Duggan, Jr. CHARLESTON - George M. Duggan, Jr., 82, of Charleston, died Friday, December 25, 2009, at the home of his son, Daniel O. Duggan. He was born February 6, 1927, in Dade City, Florida to the late George M. Duggan and Mary Bowman Duggan. He was a graduate of the University of Baltimore, School of Law. George was a member of both the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and James Island Christian Church. George was passionate about serving the Lord. He held numerous leadership positions with the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International, including President of the local chapter and Treasurer of the International Office. He did evangelistic work in over twenty-two countries, including work in Asia, Africa, Europe, Central and South America. He witnessed to thousands of people, including heads of state, leading many to the Lord. His favorite Scripture is Matthew 6:33, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired only two months ago from managing his real estate rentals. George will be sadly missed by his family. His loving wife, Sara, passed away previously. He is survived by their four sons, George Michael Duggan, III (and daughter-in-law, Cherie), Patrick J. Duggan (and daughter-in-law, Cindy), J. James Duggan (and daughter-in-law, Kelly), and Daniel O. Duggan (and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth), and his seven grandchildren: Sara Duggan, Seph Duggan, Hannah Duggan, Andrew Duggan, Jamie Duggan, Rebecca Duggan and O'Connell Duggan. He is also survived by two brothers, Daniel O. Duggan and Mr. and Mrs. John James Duggan, and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at James Island Christian Church, at eleven o'clock. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Monday, December 28, 2009 from five until seven o'clock.     Linda and I are sorry for the loss of your wonderful father, but rejoice with you as he now experiences the full glory and joy of our Lord.
